Good things are always closer than we think, but they don’t always come to us when we expect or want them to. Instead, good things happen when we’re open and ready to receive them. I know this all too well, as my own journey into health and happiness took me along a twisting and bumpy road before I arrived at the fulfilling lifestyle I enjoy today.
You see, nutrition and lifestyle coaching was not my first profession. I started out in marketing, a field in which I enjoyed a great deal of success. It allowed me to live in London and Paris, and to travel all over the world. But it came with a price—my health.
I had always been interested in health and nutrition, but the stress and schedule of my lifestyle made it increasingly difficult to make positive choices. I tried fad diets of every kind, experienced unhealthy levels of weight loss and weight gain, and my mood never seemed quite balanced. All of this culminated with my being diagnosed with Graves Disease and Deep Vein Thrombosis.
As I continued working my stressful job and dieting at random, doctors prescribed an array of ineffective treatments, and it was around that time that I began to notice an increasing level of mental cloudiness, mood swings, depression, and anxiety. I tried the doctors’ treatments along with a few different therapies, but nothing worked.
Suddenly I’d had enough. Life had become difficult and unfulfilling, and it was time for a change.
So I quit the high-paying job and went into business for myself. I began experimenting with alternative therapy techniques, and while my health improved slightly, I was still searching for physical and mental wellness that would last.
And that’s when I became interested in food. I began educating myself on food and its medicinal properties, and I eventually enrolled at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
It was there while studying various pathologies that I discovered I suffer from gluten and dairy intolerances, and after making a few adjustments to my diet, it was as if a miracle occurred—my symptoms vanished.
But it wasn’t a miracle, it was just healthy living.
From then on I knew what I needed to do. I enrolled at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and studied to become a health coach, and by applying what I learned on myself, I continued to become healthier and feel better. At the same time, I began studying at the Traditional Imperial Chue Style Feng Shui Foundation, where I learned the value of maintaining an environment that is geared toward health and positivity.
Today the quality of my health and happiness is better than ever before. And armed with all I’ve learned, I’m here to help others achieve their wellness goals.
While I was born in Germany, I consider myself a citizen of the world. Over the years I’ve lived in five different countries, which has provided a wealth of cultural experience and the opportunity to learn an array of languages, such as German, English, French, Italian, Serbian, Croatian, and Macedonian.
I was born into a family of medical professionals, but I initially took a different path, earning a BA in English Literature and a Masters in Cultural Management before venturing into the realm of marketing. But as you know from reading my story, my experiences brought me back to my family tradition of medicine and wellness.
In 2013, I studied Biomedicine at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. I went on to enroll at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I earned the title of Certified Health Coach.
My education has been bolstered by participating in Feng Shui courses at the Traditional Imperial Chue Feng Shui Foundation, and attending an array of presentations and other educational opportunities geared toward alternative therapies and nutrition, with an emphasis on the Gut/Brain connection.
My education has equipped me with an extensive knowledge of holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventative health. I not only believe that our bodies have the ability to be healed through healthy eating—I’m living proof! And I use this knowledge to help my clients make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
